Recognizing the need for something a bit more substantial than the factory chromed sheet metal bumper, I tripped to a scrapyard after work. A little torch work shaped this 7' section of 3x5x.25" tube into a crude bumper.
Took the material to a buddy's garage and made the new bumper permanent.
We unbolted the existing chrome, modified and used the factory bracketry as the base for the new steel. A very simple task to weld it together. Added two d-rings to pull or be pulled, added a half can of primer and a full can of flat black paint then called it good for the night.
A couple of weeks later we added a custom light bar and wired four Hella 500 driving lights in...
